Now we can end all of the rampant speculation that has linked South Africa with competitions all around the globe... Hooray! SANZAAR have now confirmed that Argentina, Australia, New Zealand and South Africa are now committed to the Rugby Championship for the next decade.
The Rugby Championship has definitely been the flagship model for southern hemisphere international competition for quite some time now, it always seemed strange to change it whilst the times are so unpredictable. It has led to rumours that South Africa could take Italy's place in the Six Nations due to the Azzurri's awful form over the past 5 years.
The joint-venture members are said to be 'committed' to the Championship and that there will be an 'evolution' as to where the future lies in the competition. This is due to rumours of expansion and a '10-year plan' that have led South Africa into re-evaluating their future away from the Championship.
So what do you think? Are you glad that the competition will continue, or would you rather things be shaken up? Let us know!
