British & Irish Lions Name Team for Sharks Repeat

Warren Gatland has had to think on his feet to name his British and Irish Lions team today for the rushed, re-arranged rematch with the Cell C Sharks tomorrow; a match that has come under quite some scrutiny by fans and pundits alike.

The Lions absolutely dominated the Sharks on Wednesday night, in a match that in-itself, was likely to be called off due to two positive cases in the red camp. The Lions will now face the Sharks again, after they were somewhat prodded into filling the place of the Bulls, who also had to drop out due to a bunch of positive Covid cases popping up in their own camp.

It does seem somewhat farcical that this fixture hasn't been called off altogether, as the Sharks will be without their 10 international players currently away, a bunch of test players who won't be deemed fit due to their inclusion on Wednesday and even more players succumbing to Covid. Effectively, remember the match on Wednesday? Well, let's run it back with the Sharks squad depth significantly weakened... Seems legit right?
