In what seems like a ridiculous coup, Ruck.co.uk recently revealed that Steve Diamond will make his return to the Premiership as early as next week with Worcester Warriors. The 53 year old unexpectedly left Sale last year due to personal reasons and will take up a consultancy position with the side currently sat 2nd from bottom.
Worcester promised a lot after a strong summer transfer window that saw the likes of Duhan van der Merwe and Jack Owlett join the side to much fanfare – however, despite a positive start, they have now lost 4 from 5, with some heavy scores littered throughout the fixture list.
With Bath currently languishing at the bottom of the table, and a lot of pundits calling for a tougher environment, you have to feel that Diamond was a shoo in for that level of role, but with Worcester pulling his services, are we seeing yet more disruption to the traditional Rugby superpowers? Eh, probably not, we will see to what extent his consultancy involves and then I can see Bath sniffing around for his services during the Christmas break.
